Dwarka is roughly 137 km from Jamnagar — close enough for a comfortable day trip, as long as you start early and plan the order of your stops. This is the plan our drivers suggest most often.
Early morning: leave Jamnagar
Aim to leave by 6 am. The coastal highway through Khambhalia is a good road, and Khambhalia makes a natural tea and breakfast halt. You should reach Dwarka in about two and a half to three hours.
Morning: Dwarkadhish Temple
Head straight to the Dwarkadhish Temple for the morning darshan, before the crowds build. Temple timings change on festival days, so check them if you are travelling around Janmashtami or Holi.
Late morning: Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar
Boats to Bet Dwarka leave from Okha, about 30 km beyond Dwarka. The boat is paid separately from the cab fare, and queues grow by late morning, so allow two to three hours. On the way back, stop at Nageshwar Jyotirlinga on the road between Okha and Dwarka.
Afternoon: Shivrajpur beach
Finish with an hour at Shivrajpur, a clean Blue Flag beach, before starting the drive home in the late afternoon.
Booking tips
- Book a round trip so the same car and driver stay with you all day.
- A sedan suits up to four people; families usually prefer an Innova.
- Tell us your plan when you book so the driver can suggest the best order of stops.
